Book List - further reading and references

From Sheep to Sugar – the project team found a wide range of reading to give background or to follow up specific or local interest and we share these here

Chris Evans, Slave Wales, The Welsh and Atlantic Slavery 1660-1850 (University of Wales Press Cardiff 2010) ISBN 978-0-7083-2303-8  e-ISBN 978-0-7083-2304-5

A great book that covers the general background, with specific information about the wool trade. Prof Chris Evans is our lead advisor.

Charlotte Williams, Sugar and Slate (Planet 2002) ISBN 0-9540881-0-7

An interesting personal story from Welsh born Charlotte Williams – another advisor taking an active interest in our project

J. Geraint Jenkins, The Welsh Wool Industry (National Museum of Wales1969) It doesn’t appear to have an ISBN

The most detailed and comprehensive book researched and written about the history of the Welsh woollen Industry. Sadly Geraint Jenkins died a couple of years ago.

Click HERE for our comprehensive reading list - many of these books will be available for research from the Learning Links International Office in Penygroes - check this out through the Feedback link.
